View (from property/room) in Gaudi Hotel
Arrived early in the morning, friendly front desk staff. LUGGAGE - A special room, upper floor with individual lockers, we had two small suitcases and two backpacks which both fit in one locker. You also receive a security/hotel card which allows you to access the elevator to the storage area and the lounge/toilets. SAFETY - to access anywhere beyond the lobby you need the security card which is also scanned to enter the front doors/lobby at night. ROOMS - I traveled with another adult who had their own room, both were very different, yet each was large and exceptionally clean. MY ROOM - small entrance hallway with a bench and coat hooks; the main room had a large wardrobe, desk, and a bed with two side tables; the bathroom was smaller than some other hotels, but sufficient and clean. Located in the back of the building with a small balcony - I loved it as I sat outside and observed "everyday life" of the neighborhood. OTHER ROOM - the other adult in my party was on another floor and had the room some people negatively reviewed with a "see through bathroom." It had glass walls, but they were not transparent. Per those negative reviews - yes the shower room and toilet were separate, this is common in Europe. The room was large and also very clean. NOISE - this is an old city, you are staying in the middle of the excitement/city and yes the walls are thin - this is an old building! Bring earplugs if you need silence for sleep or turn on soft music for background noise. BREAKFAST - we both enjoyed the selection at breakfast. The choices were similar each day, but there is a vast amount of choices to make so we had a variety of food each day (we stayed 4 days). TIP - Mustafa's Kebap across the street is definitely worth the 25 minute wait in line!!! Two small stores on this street to purchase water or snacks. Speed Queen laundromat across the street, just down the block.

The personnel at the desk were very helpful; they provided suggestions for some optional things to do and helped print some papers we needed. It was nice that the room was available when we arrived at noon. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was a good size. Housekeeping was very friendly and offered extra towels. We particularly liked the lounge on the second floor, and the fact that we could get ice and refill the water bottle they provided in each room. We felt protected because the room key was needed to access the elevator. The location was just a few steps from Las Ramblas, the main pedestrian street, and across the street from Palau Guell, a mansion designed by Gaudi. As a result, the Rooftop Terrace of the hotel provided great views of the decorated roof top chimneys on the roof of mansion. We could also view the entire city, including the near-by Gothic Quarter.

I loved the terrace! The view each morning was amazing, very nice feature. Also bathroom was well equipped and clean with the shower corner ( i requested it as I don't like bath tubs ) with the shower gel and there was also window for ventilation. I didn't know we would get a room with balcony, that was great surprise. The view was to the courtyard with the police station. Also breakfast is worth to book as there was a huge selection. Receptionists were all nice, very friendly. You don't see it often. The location is fabulous! Close to the beach, to the shopping street and to bars and restaurants. All within walking distance.

Fantastic and accommodating staff at both the front desk and the cleaning staff! Our flight was cancelled and we were given the last (large) room st a reduced rate since it was just two of us. The hotels proximity to the Gaudi museum (across the street 😁) can't be beat, but honestly the gem was a fantastic restaurant in the adjacent Placa Reial -Restaurant Italià Rossini. So good we went there two evenings in a row - amazing service (Donny & Ryan) superb food, and an amazing atmosphere (including an evening pianist)!! Hotel Gaudi and the restaurants/attractions that are so close are hard to beat!

The Gaudi Hotel is located literally across the street from Antoni Gaudi's first residential building. The Gaudi building is a gem, but the building roof design elements are just amazing. If you are going to stay at the Gaudi hotel, make sure you arrange to stay in a high floor (4-5) with a street view (and terrace). It was just magical to open your curtains and see such iconic images that defined Gaudi's brilliance. Also, the Gaudi Hotel is located just feet from the beginning of Barcelona's Rambla. Another gem of the city.
